DAYS AND HOURS OF MEETING AND ROUTINE OF BUSINESS--VARIATION

The Minister for the Environment, Sport and Territories (Senator

Faulkner), at the request of the Minister for Family Services (Senator

Crowley) and pursuant to notice, moved--

(1) That the days and hours of meeting of the Senate after Thursday,

23 March 1995, for the remainder of the Autumn sittings, shall

be as follows:

Monday, 27 March: 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. - 10.30 p.m.

Tuesday, 28 March: 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. - 10.30 p.m.

Wednesday, 29 March: 9.30 a.m. - 7.20 p.m.

Thursday, 30 March: 9.30 a.m. - 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. - 10.30 p.m.

(2) That the routine of business shall be as follows:

(a) Monday, 27 March:

(i) Questions

(ii) Petitions

(iii) Notices of motion

(iv) Postponement and rearrangement of business

(v) Discovery of formal business

(vi) Any proposal to debate a matter of public importance

or of urgency

(vii) Government Business.

(b) Tuesday, 28 March:

(i) Questions

(ii) Petitions

(iii) Notices of motion

(iv) Postponement and rearrangement of business

(v) Discovery of formal business

(vi) Any proposal to debate a matter of public importance

or of urgency

(vii) Government Business

(viii) At 6.30 p.m., consideration of Government documents

for up to 30 minutes under standing order 61

(ix) Government Business.

(c) Wednesday, 29 March as for a Wednesday as set out in

sessional order 17(3)(b).

(d) Thursday, 30 March as for a Thursday as set out in sessional

order 17(3)(b).

(3) The procedures for the consideration of Government documents

specified in the sessional order of 18 August 1993 relating to

the consideration of Government documents apply in respect of

paragraph (2)(b) of this order.

(4) The procedures for the adjournment specified in the sessional

order of 2 February 1994 relating to the times of sitting and

routine of business shall apply in respect of this order.
