PETITIONS

The following 8 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators

indicated, were received:

Senators Alston and Bell, from 400 and 700 petitioners, respectively,

requesting that the Senate take action to reform the Family Law Act

and the Child Support Scheme.

Senator Bourne, from 498 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to support a proposal to retain census forms for release for

specific research purposes in 70 or 100 years' time.

Senator Chapman, from 1 949 petitioners requesting that the Senate

support the immigration application for Dana Nance.

Senator Coulter, from 239 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to protect old-growth and wilderness forests by implementing a

comprehensive plantation strategy.

Senator Herron, from 8 391 petitioners requesting that the Senate call

on the Minister for Human Services and Health to withdraw her

endorsement of the sex guide published in the December 1994 issue of

Cleo magazine.

Senator Kemp, from 20 petitioners requesting that the Senate ensure

that the Australian national flag is not changed or replaced without

first being voted upon and approved by the people of Australia in a

national poll.

Senator Newman, from 67 petitioners requesting that the Senate review

the guidelines for young homeless rate benefits and show a greater

commitment to programs which prevent family breakdown.

The following petition, not in conformity with the standing orders, was

presented by Senator Herron, by leave, and received:

issues.
