TRANSPORT LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL 1995
SOCIAL SECURITY (NON-BUDGET MEASURES) LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL 1995

Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting

for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 483, dated 7 March 1995--A Bill for an Act to amend

legislation relating to transport, and for related purposes.

Message no. 484, dated 7 March 1995--A Bill for an Act to amend the

law relating to social security, and for related purposes.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Primary Industries and

Energy (Senator Sherry) moved--That these bills may proceed without

formalities, may be taken together and be now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Bills read a first time.

Senator Sherry moved--That these bills be now read a second time.

Explanatory memoranda: Senator Sherry tabled revised explanatory

memoranda [2] relating to the bills.

Pursuant to the order of the Senate of 29 November 1994, the debate was

adjourned and the resumption of the debate made an order of the day for

the first day of the winter sittings 1995.

Consideration of legislation: Senator Sherry moved--That the bills be

listed on the Notice Paper as separate orders of the day.
