ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK (ADDITIONAL SUBSCRIPTION) BILL 1994

Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting

for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 459, dated 8 February 1995--A Bill for an Act to impose a

levy on commercial prawn boats.

Message no. 460, dated 8 February 1995--A Bill for an Act to impose a

charge on the export of sea-caught prawns, parts of sea-caught prawns

and sea-caught prawn products.

Message no. 461, dated 8 February 1995--A Bill for an Act relating to

the promotion of the export of sea-caught prawns, parts of sea-caught

prawns and sea-caught prawn products, the collection of levy imposed

by the Prawn Boat Levy Act 1994 and the collection of charge imposed

by the Prawn Export Charge Act 1994, and for related purposes.

Message no. 462, dated 8 February 1995--A Bill for an Act relating to

the subscription by Australia for additional shares in the capital

stock of the Asian Development Bank.

The Minister for the Environment, Sport and Territories (Senator

Faulkner) moved--That these bills may proceed without formalities, may

be taken together and be now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Senator Faulkner moved--That these bills be now read a second time.

Pursuant to the order of the Senate of 29 November 1994, the debate was

adjourned and the resumption of the debate made an order of the day for

the first day of the winter sittings 1995.

Consideration of legislation: Senator Faulkner moved--That the Asian

Development Bank (Additional Subscription) Bill 1994 be listed on the

Notice Paper as a separate order of the day.
