Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting

for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 445, dated 20 December 1994--A Bill for an Act relating to

the consequences of certain compensation payments, and for related

purposes.

Message no. 440, dated 9 December 1994--A Bill for an Act relating to

charges in respect of certain compensation payments.

Message no. 441, dated 9 December 1994--A Bill for an Act relating to

an administration fee in respect of certain compensation payments.

Message no. 439, dated 9 December 1994--A Bill for an Act to make

certain amendments relating to the Health and Other Services

(Compensation) Act 1994.

The Minister for Family Services (Senator Crowley) moved--That these

bills may proceed without formalities, may be taken together and be now

read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Bills read a first time.

Senator Crowley moved--That these bills be now read a second time.

Explanatory memorandum: Senator Crowley tabled a revised

explanatorymemorandum relating to the Health and Other Services

(Compensation) Bill 1994.

Pursuant to the order of the Senate of 29 November 1994, the debate was

adjourned and the resumption of the debate made an order of the day for

the first day of the winter sittings 1995.
