FAMILY LAW REFORM BILL 1994

A message from the House of Representatives was reported transmitting

for the concurrence of the Senate the following bill:

Message no. 395, dated 14 November 1994--A Bill for an Act to amend

the Family Law Act 1975, and for related purposes.

The Minister for the Environment, Sport and Territories (Senator

Faulkner) moved--That this bill may proceed without formalities and be

now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Bill read a first time.

Senator Faulkner moved--That this bill be now read a second time.

Explanatory memorandum: Senator Faulkner tabled a revised explanatory

memorandum relating to the bill.

Reference to committee: Pursuant to the order of the Senate of 9

November 1994, the Family Law Reform Bill 1994 stands referred to the

Legal and Constitutional Legislation Committee for consideration and

report by 6 February 1995.
