NOTICES OF MOTION

Senator Foreman, by leave and at the request of the Chair of the Joint

Standing Committee on Migration (Senator McKiernan), gave a notice of

motion as follows: To move on the next day of sitting--That the Joint

Standing Committee on Migration be authorised to hold public hearings

during the sittings of the Senate on Monday, 14 November 1994 from 4

p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Wednesday, 16 November 1994 from 10 a.m. to 2

p.m., for the purposes of taking evidence for the committee's inquiry

into the Immigration Review Tribunal appointments process.

Senator Gibson, by leave, gave a notice of motion as follows: To move on

the next day of sitting--That there be laid on the table, by not later

than immediately after question time and any motions to take note of

answers on 14 November 1994, by the Minister representing the Minister

for Transport (Senator Collins):

(a) the loan agreement signed by the Australian National Line (ANL)

representative and drawn up during the exchange of contracts on

9 September 1994 to reflect the commercial arrangements

determined between the board of ANL and Jamison Equity Ltd,

and/or Strang Patrick Holdings Pty Ltd; and

(b) the establishment agreement between Strang Patrick Holdings Pty

Ltd, National Stevedoring Holdings Pty Ltd, Howard Smith Ltd,

Australian Stevedore Holdings Pty Ltd, Jamison Equity Ltd, ANL

Ltd, James Patrick and Co Pty Ltd and ANL Stevedoring Pty Ltd,

dated 30 June 1993.
