HUMAN RIGHTS (SEXUAL CONDUCT) BILL 1994
PRIMARY INDUSTRIES LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL 1994

Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting

for the concurrenceof the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 369, dated 19 October 1994--A Bill for an Act to implement

Australia's international obligations under Article 17 of the

International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

Message no. 382, dated 7 November 1994--A Bill for an Act to amend the

Beef Production Levy Act 1990 and the Primary Industries Levies and

Charges Collection Act 1991, and for related purposes.

The Minister for Family Services (Senator Crowley) moved--That these

bills may proceed without formalities, may be taken together and be now

read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Bills read a first time.

Senator Crowley moved--That these bills be now read a second time.

Explanatory memorandum: Senator Crowley tabled a revised

explanatorymemorandum relating to the Primary Industries Legislation

Amendment Bill 1994.

On the motion of Senator O'Chee the debate was adjourned till the next

day of sitting.

Consideration of legislation: Senator Crowley moved--That the bills be

listed on the Notice Paper as separate orders of the day.
