REGULATIONS--DISALLOWANCE--RESCISSION

The Minister for Small Business, Customs and Construction (Senator

Schacht), at the request of the Minister for the Environment, Sport and

Territories (Senator Faulkner) and pursuant to notice of motion not

objected to as a formal motion, moved--

(1) That standing order 87 be suspended to allow paragraph (2) of

this resolution to be moved without seven days notice and to be

carried by the agreement of a simple majority of senators

present and voting.

(2) That, for the purposes of section 49 of the Acts Interpretation

Act 1901, the Senate rescinds its resolution of 29 August 1994

disallowing regulation 4 of the Superannuation (Resolution of

Complaints) Regulations, as contained in Statutory Rules 1994

No. 56 and made under the Superannuation (Resolution of

Complaints) Act 1993, to allow a new regulation to be made which

would be the same in substance as the disallowed regulation but

which would cease to have effect at the expiration of six months

after the gazettal of the new regulation.
