PETITIONS

The following 7 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators

indicated, were received:

Senators Kernot and Lees, from 274 and 64 petitioners,

respectively,requesting that the Senate oppose attempts by the

Government to raise the pension age for women from 60 to 65 years.

Senator Bell, from 110 petitioners requesting that the Senate

introduce legislation requiring the National Registration Authority to

provide all available information on registered chemicals.

Senator Jones, from 13 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to ensure that all merchandise associated with the Sydney 2000

Olympics be manufactured solely in Australia from Australian

materials.

Senator Kernot, from 432 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to apply conditions retrospectively to woodchip licences to

meet Commonwealth obligations and exclude old-growth forests and

wilderness areas.

Senator Kernot, from 22 petitioners requesting that the Senate ensures

equality of all workers for carer's leave, regardless of sexual

orientation, gender preferred identity, sex, race or colour.

Senator Collins, from 1 272 petitioners requesting that the Senate

take action to protect the wellbeing of the Darwin community in the

light of military activity in the area.
