EVIDENCE AND PROCEDURE (NEW ZEALAND) BILL 1994
EVIDENCE AND PROCEDURE (NEW ZEALAND) (TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS AND
CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS) BILL 1993

Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting

for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 325, dated 1 July 1994--A Bill for an Act about certain

matters relating to evidence and procedure in Australia and New

Zealand, and for related purposes.

Message no. 326, dated 1 July 1994--A Bill for an Act to make

transitional provisions and certain amendments relating to the

Evidence and Procedure (New Zealand) Act 1993.

The Minister for Small Business, Customs and Construction (Senator

Schacht) moved--That these bills may proceed without formalities, may be

taken together and be now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Bills read a first time.

Senator Schacht moved--That these bills be now read a second time.

Explanatory memorandum: Senator Schacht tabled a revised

explanatorymemorandum relating to the Evidence and Procedure (New

Zealand) Bill 1994.

On the motion of Senator Reid the debate was adjourned till the next day

of sitting.
