CORPORATIONS LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL 1994

Order read for the further consideration of message no. 319 from the

House of Representatives in committee of the whole (see entry no. 52).

In the committee

Consideration resumed of the message--and of the motion moved by the

Minister for Defence (Senator Ray)--

That the committee does not insist upon the amendments made by the

Senate to which the House of Representatives has disagreed, and agrees

to the amendment made by the House of Representatives in place

thereof.

Senator Vanstone moved the following amendment:

At end of motion, add "with the following amendment:

", substitute the following subsection:

"(3) The rules of procedural fairness, to the extent that they

are not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act and

the Regulations made under it, apply to an

inquiry.'.".'.".

The Deputy President (Senator Crichton-Browne) resumed the Chair and the

Temporary Chairman of Committees (Senator Childs) reported that the

committee had considered message no. 319 from the House of

Representatives relating to the Corporations Legislation Amendment Bill

1994 and had resolved not to insist on the amendments made by the Senate

to which the House of Representatives had disagreed, and agreed to the

amendment made by the House of Representatives in place thereof, with an

amendment.

On the motion of the Minister for Immigration and Ethnic Affairs

(Senator Bolkus) the report from the committee was adopted.
