STUDENT ASSISTANCE AMENDMENT BILL 1994

Order of the day read for the consideration of message no. 289 from the

House of Representatives in committee of the whole (see entry no. 11, 1

June 1994).

The Minister for Small Business, Customs and Construction (Senator

Schacht) moved--That the committee does not press its requests for

amendments made by the Senate to which the House of Representatives has

disagreed.

The Deputy President (Senator Crichton-Browne) resumed the Chair and the

Temporary Chairman of Committees (Senator McKiernan) reported that the

committee had considered message no. 289 from the House of

Representatives relating to the Student Assistance Amendment Bill 1994

and had resolved to press its requests for amendments made by the Senate

to which the House of Representatives had disagreed.

On the motion of Senator Schacht the report from the committee was

adopted.
