Senator Jones, pursuant to notice of motion not objected to as a formal

motion, moved--That the Senate observe one minute's silence on 6 June

1994, immediately after prayers, as a mark of respect to the great

gallantry and courage displayed by the young men who took part 50 years

ago in the D-Day landings in Normandy and, in particular,to the 2 600

Australian servicemen involved.
