OFFSHORE MINERALS (RETENTION LICENCE USER CHARGE) BILL 1993

Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting

for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 276, dated 11 May 1994--A Bill for an Act to impose a user

charge on exploration permits and retention leases under Petroleum

(Submerged Lands) Act 1967.

Message no. 278, dated 11 May 1994--A Bill for an Act to impose a user

charge on exploration licences issued under the Offshore Minerals Act

1993.

Message no. 279, dated 11 May 1994--A Bill for an Act to impose a user

charge on retention licences issued under the Offshore Minerals Act

1993.

The Minister for the Environment, Sport and Territories (Senator

Faulkner) moved--That these bills may proceed without formalities and

may be taken together.

Question put and passed.

Senator Faulkner moved--That these bills be now read a first time.

On the motion of Senator Panizza the debate on the motion for the first

reading was adjourned till the next day of sitting.
