EXPORT MARKET DEVELOPMENT GRANTS AMENDMENT BILL 1994
EXCISE TARIFF LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL 1994

The Minister for the Environment, Sport and Territories (Senator

Faulkner) also at the request of the Minister for Defence (Senator Ray)

and pursuant to notices of motion not objected to as formal motions,

moved--That the following bills be introduced:

A Bill for an Act to amend the Export Market Development Grants Act

1974, and for related purposes.

A Bill for an Act to amend legislation relating to duties of excise.

Question put and passed.

Senator Faulkner presented the bills and moved--That these bills may

proceed without formalities, may be taken together and be now read a

first time.

Bills read a first time.

Senator Faulkner moved--That these bills be now read a second time.

Explanatory memoranda: Senator Faulkner tabled explanatory memoranda (2)

relating to the bills.

On the motion of Senator Reid the debate was adjourned till the next day

of sitting.
