PETITIONS

The following 9 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators

indicated, were received:

Senators Crane, Crowley, Ian Macdonald, Sandy Macdonald and Woods,

from 64, 44, 29, 523 and 90 petitioners, respectively, requesting that

the Senate take action to increase funding for breast cancer research

and consider further initiatives through the tax system to encourage

donations for breast cancer research.

Senator Bell, from 104 petitioners requesting that the Senate

introduce legislation requiring the National Registration Authority to

provide all available information on registered chemicals.

Senator Crane, from 142 petitioners requesting that the Senate ensure

that a referendum is held to overrule the High Court's Mabo decision

and re-establish equal land rights for all Australians.

Senator Kemp, from 7 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to ensure that Victoria receives its fair share of funding for

existing and proposed national highways.

Senator Childs, from 452 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to hold a public enquiry into the army training manual, "Aid to

the Civil Power', and ensure community input into any document

relating to Australian defence personnel involvement in civil protests

or industrial disputes.
