INDUSTRY, TECHNOLOGY AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL
(NO. 2) 1994

Order of the day read for the further consideration of the bill in

Explanatory memorandum: The Minister for Small Business, Customs and

Construction (Senator Schacht) tabled a supplementary explanatory

memorandum relating to the Government amendments to be moved to the

bill.

Consideration resumed of the bill.

On the motion of Senator Schacht the following amendments, taken

together by leave, were debated and agreed to:

Clause 1, page 1, lines 4 and 5, omit "Industry, Technology and Regional

Development Legislation Amendment Act (No. 2) 1994", substitute

"Industry, Science and Technology Legislation Amendment Act 1994".

Part 2, line 5 (page 2) to line 33 (page 4), omit the Part.

Title, page 1, omit "Department of Industry, Technology and Regional

Development", substitute "Department of Industry, Science and

Technology".

Bill, as amended, agreed to.

Bill to be reported with amendments and an amendment to the title.

The Acting Deputy President (Senator Colston) resumed the Chair and the

Temporary Chairman of Committees (Senator McGauran) reported

accordingly.

On the motion of Senator Schacht the report from the committee was

adopted and the bill read a third time.
