COMMONWEALTH RECIPROCAL RECOVERY LEGISLATION AMENDMENT
BILL 1994

Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting

for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 263, dated 5 May 1994--A Bill for an Act to amend

legislation relating to human services and health, and for related

purposes.

Message no. 264, dated 5 May 1994--A Bill for an Act to amend the

Student Assistance Act 1973 and the Student Assistance Amendment Act

1992, and for related purposes.

Message no. 265, dated 5 May 1994--A Bill for an Act to amend the

Social Security Act 1991, the Student Assistance Act 1973 and the

Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 in relation to recovery of amounts by

the Commonwealth.

The Minister for Small Business, Customs and Construction (Senator

Schacht) moved--That these bills may proceed without formalities, may be

taken together and be now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Bills read a first time.

Senator Schacht moved--That these bills be now read a second time.

On the motion of Senator Reid the debate was adjourned till the next day

of sitting.

Consideration of legislation: Senator Schacht moved--That the Human

Services and Health Legislation Amendment Bill 1994 be listed on the

Notice Paper as a separate order of the day.
