SOCIAL SECURITY LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL 1994

The following message from the House of Representatives was reported:

Message No. 250

MR PRESIDENT,

The House of Representatives returns to the Senate the Bill intituled

"A Bill for an Act to amend the Social Security Act 1991, and for

related purposes", and acquaints the Senate that the House of

Representatives has agreed to amendments Nos. 1, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10

made by the Senate; has disagreed to amendments Nos. 3 and 8, as

indicated by the annexed schedule, and for the reasons shown therein;

has disagreed to amendments Nos. 2 and 4, but, in place thereof, has

made the amendments, as indicated by the said schedule; and has made

amendments to clause 8 relevant to the amendments of the Senate, as

indicated by the said schedule.

The House of Representatives desires the reconsideration of the Bill

by the Senate in respect of the amendments disagreed to, and the

concurrence of the Senate in the amendments made by the House of

Representatives.
