PETITIONS

The following 6 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators

indicated, were received:

Senator Sandy Macdonald, 2 petitions similar in wording, from 128 and

188 petitioners, requesting that the Senate take action to facilitate

the placement of cellular telephone transmitters in the Eden-Monaro

electorate.

Senator Minchin, from 9 063 petitioners requesting that the Senate

repeal the Childcare Rebate Act.

Senator Spindler, from 4 000 petitioners requesting that the Senate

amend the Family Law Act to reform family law institutions, provide

for pre-divorce counselling, re-introduce a fault clause and ensure

appropriate parental rights.

Senator Kemp, from 10 petitioners requesting that the Senate give

consideration to the appointment of ethnic Australians to public

bodies and thus redress discrimination.

Senator Spindler, from 148 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to prevent the killing of whales for scientific purposes by

Norway and Japan.

The following 2 petitions, not in conformity with the standing orders,

were presented by Senator McGauran, by leave, and received:

From 22 petitioners requesting that the Senate replace the Chairman of

the Film and Literature Board of Review.

From 287 petitioners requesting that the Senate reconsider the

national child care accreditation guidelines.
