enable it to perform community service obligations essential to the

products".

information on the effects of the use of chemical

products".

Clause 6, page 4, subclause (3), line 10, omit "subsection", substitute

"subsections".

Clause 6, page 4, subclause (3), proposed subsection 7(4), line 14,

after "particular,", insert "to the precautionary principle and"

Clause 6, page 4, after proposed subsection 7(4), add the following

subsection:

""(5) In subsection (4), "precautionary principle" means that:

(a) where there are threats of serious or irreversible environmental

damage, lack of full scientific certainty is not to be used as a

reason for postponing measures to prevent environmental

degradation; and

(b) public and private decisions are to be guided by:

(a) careful evaluation to avoid, wherever practicable, serious or

irreversible damage to the environment; and

(b) an assessment of the risk weighted consequences of various

options.".
