Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting

for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 202, dated 7 February 1994--A Bill for an Act to make a

law for the government of certain Territories in relation to the

evaluation, registration and control of agricultural and veterinary

chemical products, and for related purposes.

Message no. 203, dated 7 February 1994--A Bill for an Act to make

provision for the evaluation, registration and control of agricultural

and veterinary chemical products, and for related matters, for the

purposes of the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Act 1993.

Message no. 204, dated 7 February 1994--A Bill for an Act to amend the

Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Administration) Act 1992 and

the Copyright Act 1968.

Message no. 205, dated 7 February 1994--A Bill for an Act to provide

for the collection of a levy on agricultural and veterinary chemical

products, and for related purposes.

The Minister for Defence (Senator Ray) moved--That these bills may

proceed without formalities, may be taken together and be now read a

first time.

Question put and passed.

Senator Ray moved--That these bills be now read a second time.

Pursuant to the order of the Senate of 3 February 1994, the Agricultural

and Veterinary Chemicals Bill 1993, Agricultural and Veterinary

Chemicals Code Bill 1993, Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals

(Consequential Amendments) Bill 1993 and Agricultural and Veterinary

Chemical Products (Collection of Levy) Bill 1993 stand referred to the

Standing Committee on Rural and Regional Affairs for consideration and

report on 21 February 1994.
