PROCEDURE--STANDING COMMITTEE--SECOND REPORT OF 1993--CONSIDERATION

Order read for the adjourned debate on the motion of the Minister for

Veterans' Affairs (Senator Faulkner)--and on the amendments moved by the

Leader of the Opposition in the Senate (Senator Hill)(see entry no. 14)

Debate resumed.

Senator Chamarette, by leave, moved the following amendment:

Paragraph (2), at end of paragraph, insert:

"Until 3 May 1994, paragraphs (b) and (c) shall apply to each sitting

day except Monday, and on and after that date shall apply to each

sitting day, subject to any further review and determination by the

Senate.".

Debate ensued.

notice.".

(18b) Paragraph (7), add the following subparagraph:

"(b) If a matter of public importance is not to be proposed nor an

urgency motion moved, the total time for debate on all

motions relating to answers to questions without notice on

any day shall not exceed 60 minutes.".
