The Leader of the Government on the Senate (Senator Sir John Carrick) moved-That , unless otherwise ordered, intervening business be postponed till after consideration of General Business, Order of the Day No. 111 (Institute of Freshwater Studies Bill 1981).

Senator Harradine moved an amendment, viz: At end of motion, add ''and General Business, Notice of Motion No. 57, standing in the name of Senator Harradine and relating to the tabling of information on the proposed industrial relations legislation, in that order''.
