JOINT SITTING--POWERS, PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES OF SENATORS

The Minister for Finance (Senator Dame Margaret Guilfoyle), by leave, moved--That the Senate resolves that it be a rule and order of the Senate that, at a Joint Sitting with the House of Representatives pursuant to the Senate (Representation of Territories) Act 1973, as amended by the Senate (Representation of Territories) Amendment Act 1980, the proceedings are proceedings in Parliament, and that the powers, privileges, and immunities of Senators shall, mutatis mutandis, be those relating to a sitting of the Senate.
