CHANGES IN MINISTRY

The Leader of the Government in the Senate (Senator Carrick), by leave, informed the Senate that, on 19 March 1981, His Excellency the Governor- General had accepted the resignation of the Honourable M. J. R. MacKellar as Minister for Home Affairs and Environment and had appointed the Honourable I. B. C. Wilson as Minister for Home Affairs and Environment.

Ministerial Arrangements: Senator Carrick further informed the Senate that, during the absence overseas of Mr Thomson, Mr McVeigh would act as Minister for Science and Technology, and that, during the absence overseas of Mr Anthony, Mr Sinclair would act as Minister for Trade and Resources.

Government Whip and Deputy- Whip in the Senate: Senator Carrick also informed the Senate of the appointment of Senator Kilgariff as Government Whip and Senator Thomas as Government Deputy-Whip.
