Senator CASH (Western AustraliaAssistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women) (10:05): Senator Rhiannon, my instructions are that, in relation to the private NGOs, as you have outlined, the tax exemption is being retained. In relation to staff who are currently employed by DFAT, they are already ineligible for the exemption. So, again, what this change is doing is putting the Public Service staff who deliver overseas development assistance on the same footing.
