Senator BRANDIS (QueenslandAttorney-General, Vice-President of the Executive Council and Leader of the Government in the Senate) (19:15): I am not going to comment on the military situation in northern Iraq. Certainly, the Australian government has provided some supplies to Kurdish people and other minority groups who are under attack and, indeed, in peril of slaughter at the hands of ISIL. I do not think you should equate providing supplies to ethnic and religious minorities in peril of slaughter with supplying weapons to the PKK.
