Senator McLUCAS (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Health and Ageing) (9:11 PM) —The government indicates that it will not be supporting the amendments moved by the Australian Greens. It is our belief that there is a need for flexibility in ministerial decision making with regard to the issuing of the closure certificate. Because of the process of the issuing of that closure certificate being very robust and very regulated, it is our view that issues and their importance will be considered on a case-by-case basis and an event-by-event basis. So it is our view that it is not a requirement to support the amendments moved by the Australian Greens.
