Senator SHERRY (Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate)(3.31 p.m.) —I did give Senator Campbell a copy of these quotes from the Prime Minister, Mr Howard, just before the luncheon adjournment in the belief that he would be able to validate that they are direct quotes from the Prime Minister. Let me quote the Prime Minister again. He said, `It has never been our policy to cut wages. We stand for better pay for better work'—and I do emphasise quite deliberately the words `better pay for better work'. Given the Prime Minister has enunciated this principle and objective, why don't we have this objective in the bill?
