Senator BROWN —I give notice that, contingent on an order of the day being called on for the consideration of any bill concerning euthanasia or laws relating to euthanasia, I shall move that so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent me moving a motion in the following terms to give precedence over any further consideration of such a bill to a motion relating to euthanasia:

   That a motion in the following terms may be moved forthwith and have precedence till determined over any motion or order of the day for any stage in the passage of, or for the consideration of, any bill concerning euthanasia or laws relating to euthanasia:

      That the Senate endorses the right to voluntary euthanasia as expressed in the Northern Territory Rights of the Terminally Ill Act 1995.
