Senator BROWN(3.06 p.m.) —I am. I move:

That the Senate take note of the explanation.

I will be very brief. My office contacted Senator Alston's office repeatedly on this matter. It is simply a failure of the minister's office and his control of that office that have led to the matter not being brought to his notice. It is a very important matter as far as I am concerned. It involves the Tarkine wilderness, which is the largest area of unprotected wilderness in south-east Australia, and it involves the minister giving the go-ahead for a telecommunications tower in the centre of that wilderness. I note that the minister has now said that he will be very swift in getting a response to the question and I look forward to getting that response within the next few days.
