Senator FOREMAN —My question is directed to the Minister representing the Minister for Health and Family Services, Senator Newman. Can the minister confirm that over 30,000 Commonwealth seniors card holders will no longer be eligible to receive free hearing services through Australian Hearing Services as a result of the changes in the budget? Further, can the minister explain how the government reconciles these changes to eligibility requirements with its pre-election commitment to maintain all current Commonwealth concessions?

Senator NEWMAN —I will have to get an answer to that from the Minister for Health and Family Services and get it back to Senator Foreman as soon as I can.
