Senator BOLKUS(9.45 a.m.) —In view of that vote, in view of the fact that it does remain available to any citizen of the state of South Australia to pursue this matter, and in view of the fact that I think some parties are not ready to proceed with this at this particular stage—and that is not us—


Senator Hill —Who gave the notice, Nick?


Senator BOLKUS —I gave the notice, but I do say to you, Senator Hill—


The PRESIDENT —Through the chair, please, Senator.


Senator BOLKUS —Through the chair, this is a matter that is of concern and, in fact, of immediate responsibility of the government—that is, whether a vote in this place is tainted in any way at all, given the notice the Senate is on in respect of the eligibility of a particular senator. But, given that notice and the government's responsibility here, which it is not meeting, and given the fact that this matter is available to any citizen in the state of South Australia to pursue at any particular time, I withdraw notice of motion No. 2 standing in my name.
