Senator BOSWELL (Leader of the National Party of Australia in the Senate) —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate—

(a)   recognises the history of the Sporting Shooters' Association of Australia as a legitimate and mainstream forum for its members; and

(b)   notes:

   (i)   with concern, the article in the Australian of 25 June 1996, by Mr Mike Steketee, that the association may contribute $1 million to the Australia First Reform Party,

   (ii)   that many members of the association would be unaware that the President, Mr Ted Drane, was intending to use their funds in that way,

   (iii)   that the leader of the Australia First Reform Party, Mr Graeme Campbell, has links with extremist groups such as Lyndon La Rouche's Citizens' Electoral Councils (CEC) Organisation, and

   (iv)   that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's `4 Corners' program of 24 June 1996 on Lyndon La Rouche and the CEC exposed the organisation as one that broke up families and employed heavy-handed tactics in obtaining donations.
