Senator SHORT (Assistant Treasurer)(1.23 p.m.) —With respect, Mr Temporary Chairman, the matters that Senator Bolkus is now raising really have nothing to do with the two bills before the chamber, because the bills relate to the Medicare levy to fund whatever final arrangements, after negotiations, are made. To that extent, the questions he is raising do not impact on these bills before the chamber. Nevertheless, I repeat that I am more than happy, and have undertaken, to refer to the Attorney-General any of these specific questions that Senator Bolkus wishes to put and any others in relation to the details of the operation of the buyback scheme, and that I will do. So, if Senator Bolkus has further questions that he wishes to put, then I am very happy to receive them and, as I will say yet again, we will get a response from the Attorney to him as soon as possible.
