Senator PANIZZA (9.47 a.m.) —I fully understand that it is a recommendation, just like mining warden decisions are recommendations to the minister—that is the case in Western Australia, anyhow. I fully understand that. Most of those are appealable to the minister, not necessarily in court, but just by negotiation. Things can be turned around. When it was mentioned that native title would have been extinguished, I presume that when another piece of ground is asked for in lieu of that compensation, it has nothing to do with native title, surely.


Senator Collins —That is correct.


Senator PANIZZA —The honourable senator seems to be saying `native title having been extinguished'. They are not looking for something that has got native title on it, is that correct?
