Senator CRANE (9.56 p.m.) —I would like to have one point clarified. As I understand it, an eligible union can agree to be bound by an enterprise flexibility agreement simply by telling the employer in writing that it wants to be bound. I believe that is a correct understanding of the clause in English and not in the gobbledegook that we have before us in this amendment. If that can occur, how would the process ever get to the particular point that the parliamentary secretary has just raised? The simple, logistical, practical fact is that it will not. As I have

already pointed out, once again this bill is deficient.
