Senator BROWNHILL (Deputy Leader of the National Party of Australia) —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

  That the Senate—

    (a)acknowledges and appreciates the work being done in Geneva by Australian trade officials and commodity councils, such as the Cattle Council, in their efforts to gain improved assess for Australian produce on a more liberal world market;

    (b)notes that greater and more equitable access to markets for Australian meat, wool, dairy produce and grains is of utmost importance to Australia and is achievable in the current General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) negotiations; and

    (c)calls on the Government to ensure that the Minister for Trade (Senator Cook) does not go to water and sell out the interests of Australia's farming communities who are dependent on a successful and mutually beneficial GATT conclusion.
