Senator MARGETTS (11.01 p.m.) —Anyone who has studied sociology knows that the definition of family is not set in concrete. It depends on the nature of the society and, in a changing society like ours, the definition of family is also changing. I think it shows an ignorance on the part of those who are opposing this amendment of what a family means and what it is defined as in sociological and realistic terms. We support the principles of this amendment, and we will be supporting the Democrats.
