Senator CHAMARETTE (5.58 p.m.) —Further to that, what procedures have to be followed before a therapeutic good can be marketed in Australia? Are the criteria for assessment available for public scrutiny?

The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN (Senator West)—Senator Chamarette, we are dealing with the Health and Community Services Legislation Amendment Bill (No. 2). Are you asking questions to that?

Senator CHAMARETTE —I am. I was a little bit in doubt, but I think that if I do not take my chance right now I might miss it. I understand we have been discussing the amendment to part 4, but I wish to discuss part 8, clause 52(c)(6), which is the last clause of the bill. If it is more appropriate to first vote on the amendment that is under discussion and then ask my questions, that is fine. As I understand it, this is my time and if I do not say anything, I will lose it.

The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN —You are correct. You may proceed.
