Senator BISHOP —I wish to make a personal explanation. Senator Carr totally misrepresented the question of my travel expenses, which I put out and I published. I am the only member of parliament whose details of travel expenses are known to the public. The so-called expenses of ministers which have been published leave out the cost of ordinary air travel.

Senator Carr said that I had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, but he was wrong. The figures for a 12-month period, including the election, were $64,000 for air fares, $26,000 for cars and $3,000 on the charter allowance. I ask whether or not members of the Labor Party, who seem to show such great interest in this matter, would like to publish the details of their travel expenses.

The ACTING DEPUTY PRESIDENT (Senator Childs)—Order! Senator Bishop, you wanted only to correct things, and you have done that.
