Senator PARER —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

  That the Senate—

  (a)condemns the action of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in terminating the contract of Miss Pamela Bornhorst, the presenter of the highly successful and respected `7.30 Report';

  (b)notes the action followed the boycotting of the `7.30 Report' and Miss Bornhorst by the Premier of Queensland (Mr Goss) and reports that Queensland Labor ministers were terrified of being interviewed by Miss Bornhorst because of her tough questioning and determination to get answers for her viewers; and

  (c)calls on the ABC and, particularly, Mr Philip Chubb, to justify the decision to dismiss Miss Bornhorst and to show that the ABC's most professional interviewer was not sacrificed because she was not perceived by the Labor Party to be `politically correct'.
