Senator Campbell asked the Minister for Veterans' Affairs, upon notice, on 13 May 1993:

  (1) How many square metres of office space are either leased, owned or occupied by the department and agencies.

  (2) What is the break-down by State and territories.

  (3) How many department and agency employees occupy the office space.

  (4) What is the break-down by State and territories.


Senator Faulkner —The answer to the honourable senator's questions as follows:

  (1) The Department's leased/owned/occupied accommodation space total 77,405 m(2), and is defined as either Central/Branch Officers or Special Purpose/Client Services.

  Central/Branch Office space totals 65,944 m(2).

  Special purpose/Client services space (Regional Offices, Vietnam Veterans Counselling Services, Veterans' Review Board, Veterans' Independence Program, Offsite storage facilities and Repatriation Artificial Limb & Appliance Centres) totals 11,461m(2).
