Senator PANIZZA —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

  That the Senate calls on the Government—

  (a)to inquire immediately into the fiasco in which 100 000 tonnes of Australian wheat, sold to Iraq under special arrangements made in post-Gulf War agreements, was loaded onto a ship partly owned in the United States (US), and is now blocked from unloading because that ship may contravene US laws on trading with the enemy; and

  (b)to inquire urgently why the US ship did not disclose its true ownership, so that Australian wheat farmers can be assured that this is not another US action in the long wheat trade war.
