Senator IAN MACDONALD —by leave—Mr Chairman, while the Minister is consulting with her advisers, perhaps we could deal with that other matter of your ruling. Your course of action is acceptable to us. That sounds a bit condescending. We agree with your course of action, which, as I understand it, is that you will refer the matter of your ruling today, together with the President's rulings of 10 and 12 November 1992, to the President for him to rule upon tomorrow. Is that what you are proposing?

The CHAIRMAN —I am not quite sure whether it was 10 November. I have something here from 10 December. If you have other references, I will get them from you.

Senator IAN MACDONALD —The ones I read out were 10 November at page 2590 and 12 November at page 3225.
