Senator IAN MACDONALD (8.55 p.m.) —I am very grateful for that. Is the Minister saying that there are moneys to cover the discount promised in the next financial year?

Senator Crowley —Yes.

Senator IAN MACDONALD —I thank the Minister. A lot of local governments will be very pleased to hear the Minister commit the Government to that. There is a suspicion going around that that is not going to happen. I am gratified by the Minister's assurance and I will make sure that all local governments know of it.

The CHAIRMAN —Are there any further matters in relation to compensation for the extension of fringe benefits? If not, we will move to the next item on the running sheet—increased salary costs from the APS.
