Senator CRANE —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

  That the Senate—

  (a)notes that:

    (i)over the 12 month period to March 1993, the ratio of the prices farmers received compared with the prices farmers paid has slipped by 1.6 per cent,

    (ii)the overall prices received for livestock decreased by 1.6 per cent and wool prices decreased by a massive 9.3 per cent, and

    (iii)turnover for mixed sheep and meat farms dropped by an immense 24 per cent in just 2 years; and

  (b)condemns the Australian Government, in light of the very serious financial situation being experienced by one of Australia's primary export earning sectors, for its total lack of initiative in removing the high input costs and impediments to agriculture.
