Senator GARETH EVANS (Minister for Foreign Affairs) (9.14 p.m.) —One further piece of advice I have just been given: of the ATSIC questions, of which there are a total of about 40, about 24, I am told, are now with the Minister. The remaining questions are, in fact, about the Northern Land Council, which it is not directly within ATSIC's capacity to respond to. The best ATSIC can do is what it has done, and that is seek answers from the Northern Land Council, which may still take some time. So far as the other questions are concerned, we will simply get the answers to Senator Tambling as soon as possible—maybe, with a bit of luck, later tonight; I am not sure.

The CHAIRMAN —If it is the wish of the Committee we will move on to specific matters within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, coming back to those unanswered questions at the end of our deliberations on Estimates Committee A. Senator Tambling, I understand you wish to speak on program 8, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs.
